In 1963, Jack Heuer, the son of Edouard Heuer began to designed a chronograph for drivers and fans. The second year he introduced a manual winding mechanical chronograph, named Carrera. Car-rera represents passion, adventure and heroism in Spanish. This name was inspired from a legendary racing in 1950s – the Carrera Pan Americana which lasted 5 days, travel 3300 kilometers (2100 miles) across Mexico. This was the most famous and most dangerous race at that time.
